KARLSBAD, THE BATH OF KINGS
Karlsbad or Karlovy Vary is the largest health-resort in Czech. The legend tells, that about 1350, during a hunt, the bohemian king and roman emperor Karl IV. discovered the hot bubbling springs and their unique regenerating effect for body and spirit. He decided to found a town at this location.
Around the town there are rising twelve thermal springs. Today, these natural medicinal springs will combined with most modern treatment methods and are used for medical cures with great success. Among other things in Karlsbad are treated exhaustion, affections of the digestive system, bile, liver, stomach, gut, diabetes, gout, but also affections of the spinal column and the extremities

Because of its great balneological tradition, Karlsbad exert since more than six centuries a really magical attraction to the protagonists of the contemporary history. The prussian king Friedrich I., J. S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Schiller and Goethe, who stayed at Karlsbad for 13 times, Siegmund Freud, Otto v. Bismarck, Mozart, King Juan Carlos I. of Spain, world stars like Michael Douglas, Armin Mueller-Stahl and Ornella Muti are only a short part of the list of prominent personalities, who take new power and inspiration at a cure in Karlovy Vary.
THE ORIGINAL KARLSBADER BUBBLING-SALT ON ITS WAY TO HOUSEHOLD MEDICINE
We are indepted to the famous Dr. David Becher (1725 1792) for his living-act. He made it possible, that people all over the world can take a regenerating bath with the original Karlsbader Bubbling Salt, which is one of the most important treatments of medical cures at Karlsbad.
He realised the first serious scientific analysis of the Karlsbad mineral water, and developed various bath-treatments, which are used till today. He recommended to continue with taking a vitalising mineralic salt bath after finishing a medical cure for supporting treatment at home. Therefore he initiated the production and distribution of the original Karlsbader bathing-salt. |
